Jönköpings Sinfonietta seeks to fill two permanent, full-time positions: First Violin Tutti and Second Violin Tutti. Musicians in these roles work across a rich repertoire of symphonic music, stage productions, and chamber music alongside leading conductors and soloists at Kulturhuset Spira.
About the Positions
Both appointments include a one-year trial period before permanent status is confirmed. Following the final audition round, the orchestra will determine which section each successful candidate is assigned to for the trial year.
About Jönköpings Sinfonietta
A vibrant 31-musician ensemble, Jönköpings Sinfonietta is an integral part of Kulturhuset Spira — a dynamic arts center presenting symphonic concerts, opera, musical theatre, dance, chamber music, and youth programming. The orchestra collaborates with distinguished international conductors, soloists, directors, and choreographers. Since 2023, Johannes Gustavsson serves as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director. The main performance venue is the acclaimed concert hall at Kulturhuset Spira, with regular tours throughout the Jönköping Region.
Application and Audition

Auditions will be held over two days: 3 and 4 September 2026.
Audition Repertoire
- Round 1: Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 4 or No. 5, 1st movement (without cadenza)
- Round 2: Romantic concerto (Beethoven, Brahms, Sibelius, or Tchaikovsky) with cadenza
- Round 3: Mozart: String Quartet No. 17, 1st movement (all candidates play the second violin part)
