The Omaha Symphony is seeking a talented violinist for the position of Associate Concertmaster — Chair 2. This is a full-time, tenure-track role for the 2026/2027 season (1 year, possibly permanent; 38 weeks + optional week).
Compensation and Benefits
The 2026/27 base salary is $57,253.46, with an additional $1,506.67 for the optional 39th week, for a potential total of $58,760.13. Additional compensation includes a $1,000 annual electronic media guarantee. Benefits include paid personal, sick, and audition leave; a two-week paid holiday break in December; and partially subsidized health, dental, and instrument insurance, plus a 4% match on an employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement plan.
About the Position
The Omaha Symphony’s 38-week season is stylistically diverse, balancing public performances with education and community engagement programmes. Some travel within the Omaha Metro area may be required, and a possible trial week during the first two months of the season is anticipated. This position will serve as Concertmaster for approximately 24 or more programmes throughout the 26/27 season.
Audition Details
This will be a multi-round audition. Preliminary and Semi-Final Rounds will be held on 25 and 26 August 2026 at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha. Final Rounds will take place on 26 August 2026.
Candidates may audition for multiple current violin openings. Please indicate on your application which position(s) you are auditioning for.
