The Billings Symphony is accepting applications for Tenured Third Flute/Piccolo. Auditions for will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

TENURED THIRD FLUTE/PICCOLO | Candidates will audition at Cisel Hall on Montana State University Campus for live auditions. Register for the audition with the link immediately below to receive a PDF packet and instructions regarding the audition. Applications are due no later than April 11TH.
MILEAGE: Mileage is reimbursed at $0.56 per mile, per vehicle, for round trip travel of 60 miles or more, with a maximum of $550 per vehicle per concert. Mileage will be limited to one round trip for concert sets where there is no day off, or gap day, between services. For concert sets where there is a day off or gap day between services, an additional round trip will be reimbursed.
AIR TRAVEL: Musicians who travel by air will be reimbursed for up to $550 of their air travel costs, limited to an airplane ticket, baggage checking fees, and costs related to travel to the airport of departure (rideshare/taxi to or parking at the departure airport). Musicians may submit air travel receipts for reimbursement immediately after purchase of airplane ticket and before travel. Billings Symphony will reimburse airline ticket costs within three weeks of receipt of itinerary/travel receipt. Musicians retain all frequent flyer miles accrued.
HOUSING: Home stays constitute the majority of housing arrangements for out-of-town Musicians. Billings Symphony occasionally offers double-occupancy hotel rooms with another Musician. Musicians who decline offered housing may obtain through the Billings Symphony, if available, a discounted hotel rate to be booked and paid for by the Musician.

About Billings Symphony
The Billings Symphony is the only professional symphony within a 140-mile radius. Now in its 74th season, the Billings Symphony has set the standard for outstanding symphonic concerts and outreach for more than seven decades. The Symphony serves a regional population of 250,000 and a local population of 150,000. The annual performance season includes The Classic Series and the Sukin Series. The eight-concert Classic Series is held in the newly renovated and historic Alberta Bair Theater. Our Sukin Series is a seven-concert series held at smaller and more intimate venues throughout Downtown Billings. In addition, the Billings Symphony season includes two Chorale concerts, three Nutcracker performances, one free concert for underserved students, one free family concert, the annual free Symphony in the Park concert, and a variety of community engagement activities as a part of a normal Billings Symphony season. Throughout the last 15 years, the Billings Symphony reached more than 35,000 children, adults, and seniors in Billings and surrounding rural communities annually through regular performances and community engagement.
