New World Symphony – Cello Fellowship
Founded in 1987 by Michael Tilson Thomas and now led by Artistic Director Stéphane Denève, the New World Symphony (NWS) is internationally recognized for its innovative performances and artist development.
NWS offers a three-year fellowship combining orchestral performance, professional training, and community engagement for outstanding early-career musicians.
Benefits Include
- Stipend: $640/week for 35 weeks (2025–26 season) to support living expenses
- Housing: Fully furnished private apartment provided by NWS
- Audition Leave: Paid time off for three auditions per year (with additional unpaid leave available)
- Visiting Faculty: Regular lessons and masterclasses with world-class guest artists, selected in part by Fellows
- Travel Grant: $350 per year for professional development
