Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Co-Principal Double Bass.This is a full-time, contract position, with a salary of £40,627.32 per annum.Based in Poole, Dorset, BSO performs extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and also delivers an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.The Orchestra’s Chief Conductor is Mark Wigglesworth; Leader Amyn Merchant.Single round unaccompanied auditions will be held in Bournemouth on the following dates:· Friday 19th September· Friday 26th SeptemberAudition requirements are as follows:Ø Any Bass Concerto 1st movement (no cadenza) and a contrasting piece.Ø Excerpts: these will be sent to musicians invited to auditionØ Sight-reading will be givenClosing Date for applications: Tuesday 22nd July 2025 17:00 GMTPlease email your completed application form to Charlotte Oxberry: coxberry@bsorchestra.co.ukWe are only able to accept applications from candidates who are eligible to live and work in the UK.
