Co-Principal Flute

Jyväskylä Sinfonia is the pearl of classical music in the heart of Finland. The orchestra operates in Jyväskylä and tours throughout the province, reaching approximately 40,000 listeners annually across nearly 150 events, from symphony concerts to cross-genre special productions and music events for audiences of all ages. The orchestra’s Chief Conductor is Italian maestro Lorenzo Passerini.

Position Details

There is an obligation to play piccolo and alto flute. In addition to playing in the large orchestra setup, the work programme includes regular audience outreach in smaller ensembles.

Audition

Date: Monday, 1 June 2026 at 12:00 PM

Venue: Encore Hall, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Lutakonaukio 12 (Paviljonki), Finland

Audition Programme

  • W. A. Mozart: Concerto in G major – Part I with flute, Part II with piccolo (no cadenzas)
  • H. Dutilleux: Sonatine

A link to orchestra excerpts will be sent via email to all applicants after the application period closes. The list of excerpts can be viewed on the orchestra’s website. An accompanist will be available at the audition.

The audition may include a job interview; applicants are expected to demonstrate strong interaction and teamwork skills.

Terms of Employment

Terms are determined according to the national collective agreement (KVTES). The salary for the position is €3,334.84, with additional bonuses payable according to KVTES.
