About Dalasinfoniettan
Dalasinfoniettan is a chamber orchestra active in the beautiful and culturally rich region of Dalecarlia. The orchestra consists of 28 full-time musicians and has performed with international soloists such as Janine Jansen, Evelyn Glennie, Martin Fröst and Víkingur Ólafsson. It enjoys regular collaborations with Roberto González-Monjas, Malin Broman, Tobias Ringborg, Chloé van Soeterstède and Ariel Zuckermann, among others. Chief conductor from 2024 is Claire Levacher, and the first guest conductor from 2027 is Simon Crawford-Phillips. A flexible ensemble, Dalasinfoniettan performs across genres – folk, jazz and pop as well as the classical repertoire. All members play chamber music and take part in projects for schools, reaching broad audiences throughout Dalecarlia. In 2027 the orchestra will move into a new concert hall in the heart of Falun.
Audition
The audition will be held in Falun on 26 and 27 October 2026.
Compulsory pieces:
- W. A. Mozart: Flute Concerto in G major, K. 313 – 1st movement (without cadenza) and 2nd movement (without cadenza).
- Piccolo – W. A. Mozart: Rondo in D major, K. Anh. 184, from the beginning to bar 88.
Orchestral excerpts and potential chamber-music repertoire will be sent by e-mail after the closing date for applications. Dalasinfoniettan will provide a pianist at the audition. Applicant costs will not be reimbursed.
