The Winston-Salem Symphony is one of the Southeast’s most highly regarded regional, per-service orchestras and will mark its 80th Anniversary throughout 2027. In recent years, the Symphony has been recognized in the League of American Orchestras Catalyst Guide for its workplace inclusivity efforts, and The New York Times featured their latest recording among the top recent classical albums. Since Music Director Michelle Merrill’s appointment in May 2023, the Symphony has experienced inspired programming, artistic growth through the filling of key positions, and renewed community engagement. Education and philanthropy initiatives remain vibrant, and new organizational leadership alongside an engaged board of directors continues to drive the orchestra forward.
The Winston-Salem Symphony is currently seeking a Concertmaster. WSS is a regional per-service orchestra averaging 75–80 services per season.
