About the Position
The Omaha Symphony is seeking four Core Section Violin players — full-time, tenure-track positions. The 38-week season (with an optional 39th week) is stylistically diverse, with equal emphasis placed on public performances and education and community engagement. Some travel within the Omaha metro area is required.
Compensation and Benefits
The 2026/2027 annual base salary is $46,928.99, plus an annual $1,000 electronic media guarantee and an optional 39th week ($1,234.97) for a potential total of $48,163.96. Benefits include:
- Paid personal, sick, and audition leave
- Two-week paid holiday break in December
- Partially subsidized health, dental, and instrument insurance
- 4% employer match on a 403(b) retirement fund
Audition Process
This will be a multi-round audition held in Omaha at the Holland Performing Arts Center:
- Résumé and $50 deposit due: July 20, 2026
- Invitations extended: July 27, 2026
- Live Preliminary Rounds: August 24–25, 2026
- Semi-Final Rounds: August 25, 2026
- Final Rounds: August 26, 2026
