Requirements for Candidates

• Completed higher or secondary music education
• Experience and practice in ensemble music making

Audition Process

Stage 1 — Video Preselection (no accompaniment)

Flute:

1. W.A. Mozart – Flute Concerto No. 1 in G major K313, I movement, exposition, no cadenza
2. Bizet – Entr’acte to Act III from Carmen – from bar 3 to number 2

Piccolo:

1. G. Rossini – Semiramide, Overture: from bar 5 of G to 4 bars after H; from bar 14 of T to one bar after U
2. M. Ravel – Bolero: from bar 3 of No. 8 to No. 9

Stage 2 — Live Audition

Flute:

1. W.A. Mozart – Flute Concerto No. 1 in G major K313, I movement, no cadenza, with piano accompaniment
2. C. Debussy – Syrinx

• A. Dvořák – Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”, I movement, 2nd flute
• G. Bizet – Carmen, Entr’acte to Act III
