Junior Fellow in Accompaniment – RNCM
The Royal Northern College of Music is seeking two candidates for the role of Junior Fellow in Accompaniment for the Academic Year 2026/2027.
Prospective applicants should ideally have completed postgraduate accompaniment studies and possess a broad working knowledge of the vocal and instrumental duo repertoire. Successful applicants will work for 350 hours per annum with students and tutors across all performance schools. The fellowship is for one year, and Junior Fellows are expected to be resident in Manchester for its duration.
Duties
- Accompanying classes and tutorials within all performance schools (Vocal; Strings; Wind, Brass and Percussion)
- Performing in competitions, concerts, and recitals within the college
- Providing accompaniment support for assessments, including vocal techniques assessments and end-of-year assessments for all performance schools
- Other duties as directed by the Head of Accompaniment
This is a fixed-term contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. Mentor support will be provided by relevant key staff.
