About the Role

Emanuel School in London is seeking an experienced Pianist/Organist for the position of Musician in Residence (Piano and Organ specialist). This role involves providing excellent piano accompaniment for solo performances and ensemble rehearsals, and accompanying Chapel services on the organ.

Depending on the successful candidate’s other instrumental experience, there may also be opportunities to assist with and conduct other ensembles within the Music department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Piano accompaniment for solo performances and ensemble rehearsals
  • Organ accompaniment for Chapel services
  • Composition assistance for GCSE and A Level Music students
  • Support for planning and delivery of Music department performances and events
  • Potential for additional individual Piano and Organ lessons (arranged separately as a freelance arrangement)

Availability Requirements

There is flexibility around working hours, though availability is required for the following:

  • Performance platforms: 4:00–5:30 pm on Mondays
  • Chapel services: 11:30 am–12:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • Composition club: 4:00–5:00 pm on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays
  • All day on Fridays
  • An additional Chapel service (day and time to be confirmed, with some flexibility)
