Exceptional musicians are invited to apply for the role of Principal Piccolo with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
Tenure
Permanent full time, subject to successful completion of a 6-month trial period, to commence after 5 July 2027.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range of $95,978 – $101,352 plus 12% Super
- Instrument allowance of $1,376.55 and clothing allowance of $440.00 per annum
- A comprehensive instrument insurance scheme, health and wellbeing programs
- Generous leave entitlements, including five weeks annual leave plus a paid mid-year break of a minimum of nine days
Eligibility
This position is open to Australian and New Zealand citizens and those with Australian permanent residency status.

Selection Process

An accompanist will be provided for live auditions.
Applicants unable to attend a live audition are encouraged to submit a recorded audition. The deadline for submitting recorded auditions is 5pm AEST Wednesday, 14 April 2027; guidelines on recording requirements are available for download via Musical Chairs.
