About the Position

The Omaha Symphony is seeking a Section Violin (Full Contract B) — a one-year temporary position with a 130-service minimum plus an optional summer week. The 38-week season (with an optional 39th week) is stylistically diverse, balancing public performances with education and community engagement. Some travel within the Omaha metro area will be required.

Compensation and Benefits

The 2026/2027 annual base salary is $23,554.70, with an optional 39th week adding $905.95, for a potential total of $24,460.65. Benefits include paid personal leave, paid sick leave, partially subsidized instrument insurance, and a 4% employer match on a 403(b) retirement fund.

Audition Process

This will be a multi-round audition held in Omaha at the Holland Performing Arts Center:

  • Résumé and $50 deposit due: July 20, 2026
  • Invitations extended: July 27, 2026
  • Live Preliminary Rounds: August 24–25, 2026
  • Semi-Final Rounds: August 25, 2026
  • Final Rounds: August 26, 2026
