Sub-Principal Bassoon Position
The Pori Sinfonietta (Pori City Orchestra) is currently seeking applications for the position of Sub-Principal Bassoon. This is a permanent position, with the successful candidate starting at the beginning of the spring season 2026 or as otherwise agreed upon.
Audition and Repertoire
The audition will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Promenade Center (Yrjönkatu 17, Pori, Finland).
The required repertoire includes:
- W.A. Mozart: Bassoon Concerto in B-flat major, KV 191 (1st and 2nd movements, without cadenzas)
- Camille Saint-Saëns: Bassoon Sonata, Op. 168 (1st movement)
- Orchestral and Chamber Music Excerpts: These will be sent to applicants via email after the application deadline. An applicant can inform them if they require the repertoire to be sent by post instead.
A job interview may be conducted as part of the audition process.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: The salary is in accordance with the Municipal Musicians’ Collective Agreement.
- Additional Pay: Recording, costume, and instrument compensation will be provided based on the valid collective agreement.
- Benefits: The City of Pori offers a sports, cultural, and welfare benefit system, as well as a personal allowance system.
