Please note: this programme welcomes all voice types — not sopranos only.

Are you a vocalist with a passion for performance? Have you completed classical vocal training and/or possess a strong classical technique? Do you aspire to more than simply performing on stage? Then NKK NXT 26/27 is your opportunity.

What is NKK NXT?

NKK NXT is the traineeship programme of the Netherlands Chamber Choir. Eight talented young singers are given the chance to develop into versatile ensemble singers and creators. NKK NXT bridges the gap between education and the professional world — a programme centred on experimentation, artistic growth, and collaboration.

What Will You Do?

As a trainee, you will receive a part-time position from mid-January to mid-July 2027; coaching from the singers and staff of the Netherlands Chamber Choir; workshops from leading experts in ensemble singing, improvisation, stage presence, choreography, and artistic development; and the opportunity to create your own performance together with fellow trainees.

In addition, trainees will collaborate on a new co-production: Medusa — a festival performance directed by Lisenka Heijboer Castañón with music by Stephanie Pan, exploring Medusa not as a mythological monster but as a human being.

Who Are We Looking For?

We seek vocalists (m/f/x) who have recently graduated or are at the start of their professional career; who have ensemble singing experience and wish to develop it further; who are interested in interdisciplinary performance; who want to develop improvisation skills and explore diverse performance formats; and who wish to deepen their artistic practice in collaboration with fellow artists.
