Overview
The U.S. Coast Guard Band is seeking a highly skilled jazz saxophonist with classical clarinet proficiency. The selected candidate will perform as the tenor saxophonist in various jazz ensembles, including a combo and the Guardians Big Band, as well as a member of the clarinet section in the wind ensemble.
Starting salary between $70,000 and $76,000; full military benefits, paid medical, 30 days paid vacation, pension plan, $15k signing bonus with qualifying college credits, and no basic training. Maximum age at time of enlistment is 41. The audition winner will have to meet all military standards to enlist in the Coast Guard. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.

The US Coast Guard Band is one of the five Congressionally designated premier service bands, and the only one of the five that is not located in Washington D.C. Instead, the Coast Guard Band is based at the USCG Academy in New London, CT. The Coast Guard Band does not require basic training.
