The VSO Fellowship Program

Professional Development for Early Career, Underrepresented Musicians

Fellowship Activities

VSO Fellows will participate in the breadth of work performed by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, including:

  • Classics and Pops concerts
  • Young People’s Concerts
  • Chamber Music performances
  • Mentorship and coaching for middle school, high school, and college students

Compensation Package

  • $21,500 stipend for orchestra services and education work performed
  • Free housing
  • Full scholarship to receive university-level course credit for Fellowship activities, conferred by Old Dominion University

Eligibility

  • Graduate work or degree preferred
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States
