Introduction

Alejandra Santillanes is a Mexican-American concert flutist based in Baltimore, MD. A passionate and dedicated educator, she maintains a private teaching studio, is a teaching artist online with Musicians for the World, and the flute and musicianship Teaching Fellow with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s OrchKids Program.

As a collaborator and performer, Alejandra serves as flutist of Boston’s CØDA Ensemble, and is an alumni of the Virtual Flute Music Festival and the Domaine Forget International Music Festival in Quebec, where she has performed for flutists such as Emmanuel Pahud, James Walker, Helen Blackburn, and Sonora Slocum, among others. Alejandra received her Masters degree at The Boston Conservatory, and earned her Bachelors degree at Florida Southern College. Her primary teachers and mentors include Elizabeth Rowe, Linda Toote, and Colleen Blagov.
