Introduction
Described as A worthy Talented musician by El Diario La Prensa and known and complimented for his sound by colleagues , Armando Vazquez is an active artist in the NYC /Nj region . He has performed in numerous orchestras including in the Beethoven Piano Passion Series at Merkin Concert Hall with the Ensemble Du Monde Orchestra as Associate Principal Clarinetist . In Italy he was Associate Principal Clarinetist in a live television production for RAI3 where he performed Mozart’s Trio K.498 ,Mozart’s symphony no.40 ,Mozart’s Piano Concerto no.23 k.488 .He performed the Mendelssohn Op.114 trio in Cape Cod at the Falmouth Library Chamber Music Series . He has been invited last minute to sub in orchestras various times for colleagues . He was called to fill in the Mozart Clarinet Concerto and the Rossini Introduction Theme and variations NYC Rehearsals with the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble for another well known clarinetist. He has performed the Brahms Trio op.114 at Merkin Concert Hall Sponsored by the McGraw hill Foundation in New York City.He has He has participated as a fellow in various prestigious music festival’s including the , Hampden Sydney Music Festival ,Tanglewood Music Festival and the Imani Chamber Music Festival at Juilliard ,He performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in the City of New York with well known conductor and radio host of the program”Lincoln Center Spotlight”. Conductor David Randolph .He was winner of the Lincoln Center Young Artist’s Chamber Music Competition for two seasons. He has participated in numerous Masterclasses which have provided him the opportunity to perform for artists , Richard Stolzman ,David Glazer Ronald Roseman, Felix Galimir , In 2010 he shared the stage with guest star legend Bucky Pizzarelli for a benefit concert in NJ. He was E flat Clarinetist with Ridgewood Concert Band now known as the New Jersey Wind symphony from 2006-2011 where he can be heard on the 26th Season Compact Disc Highlights during his tenure there he had the pleasure of collaborating with many composers and conductors and performer ‘s including composer’s Johan De Meij , Patrick Burns, conductor’s Lt Colonel Timothy Foley of the United States Presidents Own Loras Schissel of the Blossom Festival Band and NY Philharmonic Trumpet Principal Phil Smith , NY Philharmonic Trombone Principal Tom Allessi .He was principal Clarinet in a musical production called Fifty Years of Fame which included many Artists Matthew Broderick ,Eartha Kitt and Sarah jessica Parker , He is a Graduate of the Famed wold renowned Laguardia High School of Music and Art and the Performing Arts in NYC. He studied with master Clarinetist David Weber of the Juilliard School .He Has been praised by conductors ,colleagues and fellow Clarinet’s for his devotion to the beauty of sound he creates ,Armando continues the tradition and style of the French Double lip Embouchure .He is an active composer of Clarinet music with music soon to be published .Armando enjoys recording , composing, and has an extensive list of letters from musicians and colleagues which he enjoys collecting complimenting his sound and creativity .
