Violin

Introduction

Born and raised in Connecticut, I began my musical studies on violin and piano at the age of 4. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in string performance, studying with Yuri Mazurkevich and Leonid Sigal.  I then went on to complete my Master’s degree in 2014 and Certificate in Performance in 2016 at DePaul University where I studied with Ilya Kaler.

I began teaching privately after being invited to work with the Boston Youth Symphony’s Intensive Community Program. This program provides free instruction to underrepresented communities. This was my first experience teaching and I loved it! I continued to work with the program for two years, helping students who needed some extra time with their instruments or training in music reading and theory. I have been teaching private lessons ever since, maintaining small studios while at school in Boston and Chicago.

I have received training from both the Hartt School of Music and DePaul Community Division in the Suzuki teaching method. I’ve had two wonderful summers as a teacher and camp counselor at Belvoir Terrace, a performing arts summer program. I’ve enjoyed coached at the ArtsAhimsa Chamber Music Festival in Lenox, MA for four summers as well as numerous other chamber music festivals.
