Introduction
Brendan Toohey completed his Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours in Clarinet Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium in 2010. There he studied with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s associate principal clarinet – Brian Catchlove and performed extensively with community and professional orchestras including the QSO.
In 2012, Brendan relocated to Melbourne’s South-East suburbs where he completed his Master of Arts in Music Performance at Monash University in 2013, studying with clarinet virtuoso David Griffiths. In Melbourne Brendan has continued to perform extensively with community and professional orchestras including Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Brendan also plays and teaches Saxophone to an advanced standard, mainly in classical and musical theatre genres but also accommodates jazz and contemporary styles wherever possible.
