Introduction
Christiana Howell has been a part of the Pittsburgh music scene for over twelve years. She has served on the music faculty at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, PA since 2009, where she directs the middle school choir and opera workshop ensembles, in addition to teaching private voice lessons, music literature, and general music classes. She attained her Bachelors of Music in Music Education and Vocal Performance degrees from Slippery Rock University, and achieved her Masters of Music Education degree from Shenandoah University. She studied opera in Lucca, Italy, in 2008 as part of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca. Ms. Howell has soloed with several regional orchestras in performances of Mozart’s Requiem and Regina Coeli, Handel’s Messiah, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Rutter’s Requiem, and Faure’s Requiem. Christiana sings with several choral groups in the area including the Trinity Cathedral Choir, OvreArts, the Ambrose Romanos Singers, Voces Solis, and the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus. Christiana teaches private voice lessons through the Henry Mancini Arts Academy.
