Introduction

Originally from New Jersey, Christina Raczka is a flutist with teaching experience in both classroom and private lesson settings. She graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and was a middle school band director in Camden, NJ. In 2017, Christina moved to Virginia to pursue graduate studies at Shenandoah Conservatory. She earned a Master’s degree in flute performance in 2019 and is currently working toward a Doctorate of Musical Arts under the tutelage of Jonathan Snowden.

Christina performs with several Shenandoah Conservatory ensembles, and is a freelance musician throughout the region. Christina has had the honor of performing with the United States Air Force Band for their first Collegiate Symposium. In previous summers she has attended music festivals such as soundSCAPE Composition and Performance Exchange in Maccagno, Italy, Aria International Summer Academy, and Apple Hill Summer Chamber Music Workshop. In October 2017, she was selected to perform in a masterclass with Denis Bouriakov, principal flutist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

After graduating, Christina plans to teach privately full-time and continue to perform. As an educator and life-long learner who is invested in her students’ learning, Christina believes it’s important for her to continuously grow as a teacher and a musicican.
