Introduction
Bulgarian violinist Dorisiya Yosifova is a Boston based freelancer and instructor. Her most significant performances include appearances with the Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra, Jupiter Quartet in Oberlin Conservatory’s Winter Term Intensive, performing at Carnegie Hall as part of Oberlin Orchestra, and Le Poisson Rouge with the Next Festival for Emerging Artists. She has held concertmaster positions with Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra, Eastern Music Festival Orchestras, and Round Top Orchestra. Dorisiya has won several awards and competitions, including the Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Merit Scholarship and Marrowstone Music Festival’s String Fellowship Award.
In addition to maintaining a private studio, Dorisiya is a private teacher at Music & Arts in Newton, MA, and a violin/viola teaching artist at Youth & Family Enrichment services in Hyde Park, MA. Dorisiya holds a Master’s of Music degree with honors from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Bachelor’s of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory. Her primary teachers include Gregory Fulkerson, Marilyn McDonald, Lynn Chang and Rictor Noren.
