Introduction
Elizabeth is a graduate of the five-year, dual-degree New England Conservatory/Harvard program and earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Harvard in 2020 and a Master of Music degree in Harp Performance from NEC in 2021. She started her music journey on piano at age 5 with Robelyn Schrade-James and began playing the harp at age 9 with Karen Lindquist. She continued her studies with Jessica Zhou at NEC.
Elizabeth was a harpist with NEC’s Symphonic Winds and the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, and she performed as a guest harpist with Harvard’s Bach Society Orchestra. Before college, Elizabeth played with the National Youth Orchestra of the United States and the InterSchool Orchestras of New York, and she guested with the New Jersey Youth Symphony, Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, and St. Thomas Orchestra. She received numerous accolades including first prizes in the Intermediate II division of the American Harp Society competition, the Emerging Artist Division of the Young Artist’s Harp Competition, and the InterSchool Orchestras Constance Mensch Concerto Competition. She was also awarded an Honorable Mention from the YoungArts Foundation.
Through a fellowship at NEC, Elizabeth developed and presented a musical storytelling program to introduce the harp to elementary school students around Boston. In 2021, Elizabeth was awarded first prize in the Young Professional division of the American Harp Society competition, which led to a two-year role as the 2021-2023 AHS Concert Artist. During this time, she traveled to AHS chapters across North America to perform solo concerts and teach lessons and masterclasses.
Today, in addition to her work as a data analytics and artificial intelligence consultant, Elizabeth continues to teach, perform solo recitals, and guest with orchestras, with performances including Mozart’s Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra, poems from Má Vlast, and The Nutcracker. She lives in Philadelphia, and in her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, making pottery, and spending time with loved ones.
