Introduction
Cellist Jeanette Stenson hailed as “first-class” playing with “captivating tone colours” and “great poise” (Deryk Barker) seeks to inspire and uplift humanity with her multi-genre musical career.
Ms. Stenson has performed on Broadway with shows including Cats, An American in Paris, Spring Awakening, If/Then, and King Charles III. Her Off Broadway credits include Daddy Long Legs and Extraordinary Extremities. National Tour credits include Les Miserables and 101 Dalmatians Musical. As an active recording artist she has recorded Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close: Original Sound Track (Water Tower Music), Daddy Long Legs, Original Off Broadway Cast Recording (Ghostlight Records), and Support Japan! Ave Maria by Daniel léo Simpson (Deltur Records/Amocanti).
Groomed for orchestral work with a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music studying with Alan Stepansky as part of their distinguished Orchestral Performance program, Ms. Stenson has had the pleasure of working under the direction of artists such as Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Osmo Vänskä, and Pinchas Zukerman. She holds a tenured position with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra and has worked with many orchestras including Albany Symphony, Plainfield Symphony, and the American Ballet Theater.
As a chamber musician Ms. Stenson is a founding member of the Fair Trade Chamber Music Society as well as the Morningside String Trio. As an eager collaborator she has worked with ensembles such as the Fair Trade Trio, Classical Revolution, MuSE String Quartet, and The Leora Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Stenson, as an avid educator, completed her Suzuki certification at The School for Strings with Pamela Devenport and maintains a private teaching studio she calls the 10,000 Times Studio.
Ms. Stenson enjoys residing in New York City while not on tour with Les Miserables with Dmitri, her 2005 David Caron cello, and Daisy her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
