Introduction
Joyce is an experienced performer in a diverse range of musical styles and ensembles. Her past orchestral experiences include performances at the Aspen Music Festival and School, the American Viola Society Festivals, and with the Eastman Philharmonia. As a dedicated chamber musician, she has performed at festivals such as the Heifetz International Music Institute and collaborated with Eastman faculty in one of the If Music be the Food concerts. Additionally, she has given numerous solo performances at the American Viola Society Festivals and the Eastman School of Music, where she earned her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees. In 2019 and 2022 respectively, Joyce was the recipient of the Robert L. Oppelt Viola Prize, which is presented annually to an outstanding violist at the Eastman School of Music. In the summer of 2018, Joyce captured second prize in the American Viola Society Solo Competitions in the Collegiate Division.

Graduate Teaching Assistant
Joyce maintains an active schedule as a teacher, hoping to inspire the next generation of musicians. She has been serving as
a Teaching Assistant for George Taylor’s studio for the past 4 years, where she taught private lessons to undergraduate
students within the studio. Outside of the studio, she teaches viola lessons to non-music majors from the University of
Rochester and violinists at the Eastman School of Music. She also teaches small group classes for Strings Classes I & II, as
well as Teaching Group Strings in the Elementary Setting, at the Eastman School of Music, which are strings technique
classes for music education majors. She is also a chamber ensemble coach at the University of Rochester, and a violin/viola
mentor for the New Horizons Green Strings of the Eastman Community Music School for the 2021-22 academic year.
