Introduction
Kathleen Jara is a professional violinist with over 14 years of experience using her instrument as a tool to educate youth in self-expression through the arts. Through interdisciplinary projects, her students learned how to communicate their thoughts and feelings in accompanied spoken word, original composition, and visual representation, as well as how to play the instrument. A self-named artist/educator, Kathleen continues to push her own boundaries with musical and artistic expression through collaborative projects with former students and with colleagues that speak to the present political scenario and its effects on our communities.
