Introduction

Katie is a freelance musician in the Philadelphia area, having studied piano and upper woodwinds, and specializing in oboe and English horn. While attending the University of Pennsylvania, Katie studied oboe with Jonathan Blumenfeld of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and graduated with degrees in both Music and Computer Science Engineering. Katie is currently the principal oboist at the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia  and plays English horn with the Lansdowne Symphony and Philadelphia Wind Symphony. Musical highlights include playing Copland’s Quiet City with the Lower Merion Symphony and joining the 2005 national tour of Miss Saigon.
