Introduction
Kraig is a freelance double bassist and music educator. He has performed with many local orchestras and ensembles including the Santa Monica Symphony, the Orange County Symphony, Symphony Irvine, the West Covina Symphony, Dream Orchestra Los Angeles, Lyra Chamber Orchestra, Lake Avenue Chamber Symphony, and the American Youth
Symphony. Kraig received degrees in double bass from Azusa Pacific University and California State University Los Angeles, where he also studied music education. His teachers have included Nico Abondolo, Kurt Muroki, Timothy Eckert and Geoff Osika. In addition to teaching privately, Kraig is a double bass coach in Arcadia and San Gabriel School Districts and coaches bass sectionals for local youth orchestras. Kraig is a member of the American String Teacher’s Association and his students are the first double bassists in the area to participate in ASTA’s Certificate Advancement Program.
