Introduction
Landon Honolka is a freelance double bassist and private educator in the Oklahoma City and New York City area. Honolka holds a Bachelor of Music in performance from Oklahoma City University and is currently a graduate student at The Juilliard School. From Albuquerque, New Mexico, Honolka has always been surrounded by music growing up, and he started playing at quite a young age. Since beginning on the double bass in the 6th grade, music has been a way of life and is what he enjoys most.
Honolka has performed with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic as a section bass player, and has been featured in other professional orchestras in Oklahoma City, New Mexico, and Arkansas. In addition, Honolka has performed with The Juilliard Orchestra as principal, and Oklahoma City University as principal. As a soloist, Honolka has performed as a concerto winner with the Oklahoma City University Symphony Orchestra, as well as performing in multiple recitals. Honolka has also been seen playing in opera pit orchestras and as a bass guitarist in music theater pit orchestras.
In his free time, Honolka enjoys spending time friends, family, and his fiancé, Jessica. He can often be seen at the gym, writing music, cooking.
