Introduction
Lee Starovich is an active bass and orchestra teacher as well as bassist in the Quad-City area. Starovich graduated with high distinction under the tutelage of Bruce Bransby and Dr. Brenda Brenner from the Indiana University-Jacobs School of Music with bachelor degrees in music education and music performance. Completing his masters in 2017, Lee received a full scholarship to attend Yale University under Donald Palma and is the recipient of the Leroy “Slam” Stewart Music Scholarship as well as the Frances G. Wickes Fellowship and Scholarship. He currently is an elementary orchestra teacher in the Pleasant Valley Community School District and plays in numerous local orchestras. He has attended the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Domaine Forget International Music and Dance Academy, and the Brevard Summer Institute and Festival. Lee enjoys traveling, mountain biking, and makes a mean peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
