Cello

Introduction

Cellist Matthew Dosland grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Since earning degrees in Music Performance and Nordic Studies from Luther College, Dosland has continued his education at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University pursuing a Master’s in Cello Performance. Dosland performed as a member of the Minnesota Youth Symphonies from 2008-2015, the Luther College Symphony Orchestra from 2015-2019, and has been a member of Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra since 2019. From 2014-2018 Dosland participated in the Northern Lights Chamber Music Institute under the direction of Young Nam Kim and Ariana Kim, in 2017 he attended the International Music Festival of the Adriatic in Duino, Italy studying with Tulio Rondón. Dosland is currently studying cello with Richard Hirschl, previous teachers include Teresa Richardson and Dr. Philip Borter. At Luther College, Dosland studied chamber music with Dr. John Strauss and Dr. Nicholas Shaneyfelt, he is currently studying chamber music with Igor Fedotov and Adam Neiman at the Chicago College of Arts at Roosevelt University. In his free time Dosland enjoys camping, cross-country skiing, and reading.
