Violin

Introduction

Nathan began playing the violin at the age of five. He graduated from Montclair State University’s John J. Cali School of Music in 2015 with a Bachelor of Music. His teachers have been Mary Barton, Joey Corpus and is currently studying under Mary Ann Mumm. He has also played in masterclasses for Ida Kavafian, Joseph Silverstein, and Weigang Li.  As an orchestral musician, Nathan has played under the direction of some of the most prominent conductors in the world, including, Gerard Schwarz, Ken Lam, Grant Cooper, Steven Reineke, and Keith Lockhart. He has played in some of America’s most prominent concert halls including Carnegie Hall and David Geffen Hall (formerly Avery Fischer Hall) at Lincoln Center. With a passion for teaching, Nathan studied Suzuki Pedagogy at the School for Strings under Allen Lieb. He taught at Montclair’s Preparatory Center for the Arts for 2 years, assisting with the instruction of the Suzuki Group Classes, worked as an Intern with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s CHAMPS (Character, Achievement and Music Project) at University Heights Charter School in Newark and an administrative assistant for the Paterson Music Project, offering support at two sites of the Community Charter School of Paterson. During the summers, Nathan has participated in the Eastern Music Festival and Brevard Music Center.
