Flute

Introduction

From Paramus, New Jersey, Nicole Hom is currently studying flute performance at Temple University, where she first studied with Mimi Stillman and currently studies with Patrick Williams, Associate Principal of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Nicole participates in a wide range of ensembles at Temple, from flute and piccolo with the Temple University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony to various chamber ensembles. Around Philadelphia and the Tri-State area, Nicole is a substitute flutist and piccoloist with Symphony in C, and has spent summers in pit orchestras for various theater companies. Past masterclasses at Temple University, the 2022 Virtual Flute Music Festival, and the 2023 ARIA International Summer Academy include Marina Piccinini, Paolo Taballione, Alberto Almarza, Marianne Gedigian, Carol Wincenc, Jim Walker, Alexa Still, Judith Mendenhall, and Linda Toote. Nicole has also sought additional mentorship from Helen Blackburn, Molly Barth, Donna Shin, Soo-Kyung Park, Elizabeth Rowe, Prema Kesselman, Jeanne Baxtresser, Katie Velasquez and Anna Meyer.
