Introduction

Rebecca Molinari is known for her powerful sound and personality on stage coupled with praise for her phrasing and interpretation. Equally comfortable on the Recorder as well as the Baroque Oboe, she completed her studies at McGill University in Montreal, Canada with Matthias Maute, Matthew Jennejohn, and Washington McClain. Rebecca has performed across the United States, Canada, Italy and China including the Montreal Baroque Festival, Montreal Recorder Festival and the Berkeley Early Music Festival. Recently, she appeared with West Edge Opera Company on both Oboe and Recorder. Additionally, she has made appearances with the San Jose Symphonic Choir, and will be performing with the Albany Consort in May. Rebecca recently formed a new ensemble: HIP Forum, which seeks to bring Early Music to new audiences in the Bay Area, and beyond.

Along with various performances, Rebecca has also taught at the SFEMS Recorder Workshop, the SFEMS Music Discovery Workshop, and Marin Headlands. As guest conductor, she has conducted the Barbary Coast Recorder Orchestra, Junior Recorder Society, South Bay Recorder Society, East Bay Recorder Society, and now the Sacramento Recorder Society. In addition to her early music career, Rebecca has collaborated with several composers to write new works for Recorder and live electronics pushing the creative boundaries of the recorder to new heights.
