Audition Cafe

Introduction

I am a self-taught trumpet player and am currently a sophomore in high school.  I play trumpet in the two best honor bands in San Antonio:  the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio (YOSA) and the San Antonio Youth Wind Ensemble (SAYWE).  I have attended Interlochen where I earned the position of Principal Trumpet and was recently selected as one of two trumpet players from a nationwide audition to perform with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra with the National Instrumentalist Mentor + Advancement Network (NIMAN).  I became an All-State trumpet player in Texas when I was still in middle school.  I am an Eagle Scout (which I earned at the age of 12) and rank academically at the top of my class at Town East Christian School.  I have played on the Varsity Basketball team for the last two years and was a member of the team that made the State Playoffs.  I am a Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do and will soon earn my Black Belt.  I sound “Taps” at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for different occasions.
