Dr. September Payne is an entrepreneurial artist and pedagogue who’s long-standing association with Marcel and Louis Moyse’s teaching is well praised. She has performed as Principal Flute, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, piccolo with Boston Opera, the Chen International Music Festival, Dallas, toured with chamber ensembles Duo Pastiche, (Carolyn Mills, harp, New Zealand Orchestra), Duo CANsonare with Canadian pianist, Jane Perkyns and 1st to catalogue Contemporary Canadian Flute Music.
September is Flute Professor, Emeritus, at San Diego State University, and served as President of San Diego Flute Guild, Director of Winds, California Institute of Music. Currently she is Co-Founder of San Diego Coastal Flutes and maintains a thriving flute studio of competitive students in San Diego.
