Harp

Introduction

I have always loved weddings and it is a dream come true to build a career playing in them!  Regardless of the type of ceremony, I would love to be a part of your wedding.  I play all of the traditional wedding repertoire, but also take more popular requests – recently I played a solo harp version of “Africa” by Toto as a recessional!  Other popular music selections that I have played for weddings include “A Thousand Years” and “Marry You.”

I also enjoy playing cocktail hour or dinnertime background music for wedding receptions, anniversaries, engagement parties, galas, corporate parties, or any other special events.  The mere physical presence of the harp adds a touch of elegance and sophistication.  For those events I enjoy playing a mix of jazz standards, classical harp repertoire, Disney music, and some Latin music.

My wedding ceremony prices range from $350-800 with the most popular package being $350.
For background music (often receptions and events) I charge $250 for the first hour and $150 for each subsequent hour. For receptions at the same location as the wedding, I offer a $50 discount if you book me for both.

I provide friendly, engaging, and flexible lessons tailored to you or your child’s interests with a strong focus on the pursuit of excellent playing. With over ten years of lessons plus a degree in harp performance (BM, Duquesne University, 2016; MM, Carnegie Mellon University, 2018) I am particularly qualified to teach harp lessons. With nine years of piano lessons, including piano minor lessons at Duquesne and a yearlong piano pedagogy course at Carnegie Mellon, I am also excited to offer piano lessons. I love playing both the harp and the piano and I want to share that joy and the beauty of music with everyone. Piano lessons are a wonderful foundation for a life of musical enjoyment and serve as a great booster for strong playing on other instruments (like the harp!). The harp has a unique beauty and is considered to be one of the most soothing instruments; learning how to play it is a rewarding experience because it sounds good right from the start! I have four younger siblings so I love working with children (and know how to work with the difficult ones). I have coached my siblings in intensive practice sessions between their piano lessons to great success – their piano teacher always comments on how much they improve when I am home. Please contact me to discuss lessons and to claim a free trial lesson with me!
