Introduction
Stefania Scapin is an italian harpist born in 1992 near Venice, she started to play the harp at the age of eight and graduated with the highest mark at the A. Buzzolla Conservatory in Adria.
In 2015 she moved to London and attended the Royal Academy of Music for a Year-in Diploma, studying with Karen Vaughan and Skaila Kanga.
She won different harp competitions, as the third price at the prestigious “Abbado Price Competition for the Italian Arts”, the second price at the “Città di Treviso” international music competition and the second price at the “Riviera della Versilia” in Tuscany.
She attended several masterclasses in Italy and in Europe with greats harpist like Margherita Bassani, Isabelle Perrin, Skaila Kanga, Emmanuel Ceysson, Marisa Robles and Park Stickney.
Since 2012 she has played in various type og chamber music ensemble, like the Adria Harp Ensemble, the Royal Academy of Music Harp Ensemble in London, the De Angelis Ensemble in Florence and the Ventaglio d’Arpe Ensemble in Udine.
She performed as first harp in the Italian Youth Symphonic Conservatories’ Orchestra, with whom played concerts in Udine, Trieste, Rome, Belgrad, Novi Sad with M° Giuseppe Grazioli and M° Bruno Aprea as conductors.
She is now studying with Fabrice Pierre in Milan and with Patrizia Tassini at the J. Tomadini Conservatory in Udine for a Master Degree.
More over, she is attending an Erasmus program at the prestigious Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
She regularly performs as soloist and with orchestra or ensembles and teaches music in private schools in Italy.
More over, she has got a Bachelor Degree in Psychobiological and Cognitive Science, obtained at the University of Padua in 2015.
